WOODBRIDGE HISTORIC RENOVATION
This 1870s home is located in the Woodbridge Farms Historic District in Detroit, and was split into an up-down duplex many years ago. We are helping the current owner perform a full rehabilitation to convert it back to a single-family home to include a plan reconfiguration, new windows, a reconstructed front porch, new side and rear porches, and new finishes throughout.
While modest compared to the ornate historic homes that used to surround it, the house features unique details like curved corner walls at on the second level, intricate exterior wood paneling combined with scalloped cedar shingle siding, plaster-moulded ceilings, and a distinct front porch design with a sweeping concave staggered roof profile. The home is being carefully renovated to ensure that it will stand as a striking example of late 19th century Detroit residential architecture for decades to come.
